Back for a Few Days

I thought I'd check-in and share a few photo highlights.

the Church of the Spilled Blood, St. Petersburg, Russia  was built in 1883
on the exact spot where Tsar Alexander II was assassinated.
the statue of the Little Mermaid, inspired by the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen
is a landmark icon in the harbor of Copenhagen, Denmark

the medieval streets of Gamla Stan in Old Town, Stockholm, Sweden
the Lutheran Cathedral in Helsinki, Finland
Gustav Ernesaks statue overlooking the Song Festival Arena in Estonia.
This site commemorates the Singing Revolution, the non-violent path
the Estonians took to free themselves from the Soviet Union

Flower Vigil in Oslo, Norway to commemorate the tragic killings

the flower path that led to the Royal Palace

I am still working on finishing Middlemarch and Wives and Daughters.
St. Petersburg inspired me to add and read Crime and Punishment.
A Kind of Intimacy,
Ender's Game,
Crime and Punishment,
Midnight at the Garden of Good and Evil,
Tall Story,
and Whisky Sour
are the books that are going on my list.
I am hoping to post a few before I leave for my next trip which will be in a few days.
Thanks for stopping by.
